… And India Win!
Posted in: Cricket News & Updates, UncategorizedRahul Dravid said it right on why he thought the tour to Bangladesh was tough: “Had we not done well, people would have said, ‘What’s happening?’ Had we won, it’s not a big deal. So it was tough in that sense.”
But in the end India won both the Test series and ODI series, more than comfortably and they were tested ONCE - that not too Bangladesh, but by Rain!
Forget if Sachin Tendulkar made back to back centuries (after a long time) or if first four batsmen made centuries in an innings. What was good to see was Zaheer Khan taking wickets with the first ball in both the innings of the second test match.
Ravi Shastri, Robin Singh, & Venkatesh Prasad seemed to have made no difference, as players dropped catches after catch, but it was only Bangladesh’s inept batting effort both the times, that made sure that they surrendered meekly.
Ashraful, Mortaza (again!) made a bit of entertaining effort, but they never threatened! It was just as if they thought lets make something out of all this fuss!
In the meanwhile, Ravi Shastri is going to back to ESPN-Star studios. One wonders, what difference did he tried to make in his stint. May be he was appointed as the spy to see some differences, yet ordered to keep telling to the media that there were no differences!
And then Dave Whatmore - He will be looking forward to coach the India…the announcement is soon to be made!
In the meanwhile Rahul Dravid & his mates will try going home and get some good sleep. They might have missed some good sleep after that pathetic performance in the World Cup. It is much better they sleep now. Because England & Ireland conditions are sure going to stress them!
