Just when everyone was raring to go…Cricket World Cup 2007 is on!

Sir Garfield Sobers, one of the greats of West Indies Cricket, officially announced the World Cup 2007 open. This 45 day long world cup is the largest world cup ever, with 16 teams, and 10 major ones contending for title!

With all the news about minnows vs greats, the well behaved vs the non-behaved, the gas leaks and bad pitches, World Cup 2007 has been in the news long before it actually began.

Though the first match will began only on 13th, probably because of the sentiment about 13th that the official ceremony was conducted on 11th night in the West Indies.
