Windies make it 2-1

Posted in: Cricket News & Updates

It wasn’t just me who knew what was in store for us at Chennai but ever cricket lover in India knew. I said this earlier about India that we are all set to give away the match to the Windies and allow them to make it 2-2 in Baroda. The same old experiments continued with the same old mistakes.

The same old script like the one at Chennai has been written so many times over the years. We never believe in going for the kill.

It was evident that India was over confident resting comeback man Ganguly, Uthapa had to score or else it would have been curtains for him, so he score and gave his wicket away in a rush of blood. Tendulkar had to score but could be there to see India pass 300. Raina was a wrong choice at 3 but the selectors will persist with him till he doesn’t score, the same with Yuvraj.

The total that India posted of 268 was never a threat for the opponents. Except for a small hick-up where they lost a couple of wickets everything seemed easy for them.

Marlon Samuels comes good only against India as he scored a superb 98 with able support from Lara who scored 83.

The way Sreesanth was bowling looked as if he wanted to bowl wides and make Windies win with the help of extras. Gayle again departed for a duck but we need to watch out for him at Baroda. Agarkar needs to keep his cool and control his line as he tends to go haywire at times.

India will surely try it’s best to give away the match at Baroda, at most it may recall Ganguly, Pathan and Dhoni. Dravid will be ready with his stale mate comment that we fell short of 20-30 runs and…the same old story will continue.
