Can Vaughan make a difference?

Posted in: My Corner

At the end of the second day’s play of the 5th and final ashes series, it’s even stevens to both at SCG.  Warne, Langer and McGrath will surely want to end their test career on a winning note. A consolation win at Sydney would mean that they go into the Commonwealth Bank One Day Series with confidence and with Michael Vaughan making a comeback to the team would surely give a boost to their morale.

It may be recalled that Vaughan has been out of international cricket for more than a year due a long-term knee injury that required surgery.

The 32-year-old Yorkshire batsman’s said he’s dying to play for England and what better way than starting off with a one-dayer. But it wouldn’t be easy to come back from an injury as it’s easier said than done.

And don’t forget England has been humiliated by the Aussies so far and it would rather be difficult to pick them selves up and beat the Aussies in their homeland.
