Favoritism continues with BCCI

Posted in: Cricket Controversies & Issues

When Ganguly was dropped from the side because of dismal performances, we thought at last the selectors have started acting tough on players but seems like the rule applied only for Ganguly.

Pathan was sent home for obvious reasons so why not Sehwag, Jaffer or Dinesh Karthik? Gautam Gambhir could have been a better choice for opening but Jaffer hailing from Mumbai will surely get another chance. Sehwag needs to get his act right and dropping him would be like who will open the innings in tests and ODI’s?

Dinesh Karthik is second choice to Dhoni and looks like he still remains the best bet for us as far as keeping wickets go.

Test cricket shouldn’t be much of a botheration for the time being as choosing the right team for the up coming one-dayers and world cup is of prime concern. What selectors need to do is stop favoring particular players, be it Tendulkar, Ganguly or anyone else. But as they say- it’s easier said than done!!!
