Irfan Pathan back home for Ranji
Posted in: Cricket News & Updates
It’s indeed high time that the selectors don’t take the public back home for granted. Instead of accepting Pathan’s bad form in the on-going SA series, they say he is back home to play Ranji for Baroda. According to BCCI, Pathan will have to prove his form in the remaining two rounds of the Ranji tournaments to be considered for the coming up world cup.
The Baroda seamer was seen struggling for form in the one day series although it’s the batsmen who failed badly but I guess someone had to be picked as a scapegoat. Pathan has been tested in all positions and unfortunately failed to deliver. Going by what the BCCI does after they drop a player is anybody’s guess, after all favoritism has always ruled the roost with the BCCI selectors.
It’s most unlikely that there would be a replacement for him and wouldn’t be easy for Pathan to make a comeback with the world cup just round the corner.
Do we see another cricketer’s career biting the dust or are we reading too much into this?
