Will Team India Repeat History?

Team India

Its party time guys!!! Team India has proved everyone wrong by registering its first test victory against South Africa. The team indeed needs to be applauded for its effort especially after loosing 4-0 in the one-day series; it’s a turnaround of sorts.

Let’s not get into the details as to what were the reasons for this victory and why did it take so many years to win a test in SA.

Do we really need to rejoice? I guess many cricket lovers think twice before really opening the champagne bottle. We all know that the real celebrations will start only once the third test is over and with the test series going in our favor. We always over rejoice only to end up loosing test series 1-2.

Let’s not forget SA is wounded and playing in their backyard, so they have all the reasons to bounce back with a bang. Except for the Windies tour this year we have never been able to sustain the pressure on pitches abroad after going 1 up in the series. Most of the series scripts are readymade with many cricket lovers back in India.

There have been umpteenth occasions where we have surrendered meekly in to the hands of our opponents. Why is it that we work so hard to loose matches? Why we aren’t consistent and consistent enough. What is the right combination to win matches? Why we don’t dare to think of winning a series abroad 3-0? What’s MISSING?
